Increasing
demand of Diesel-driven car models
Car Demand Dieseling ahead.
Diesel car variants are speeding ahead in demand
in comparison to their petrol variants.
Diesel models already account for more than 80%
of the production for a few models like Skoda India, Telco
Toyota and Fiat are already gearing up, for the launch of their
diesel variants in India. Fiat plans to launch the diesel version
of the Palio/Siena in the first half of the year and Toyota is also
contemplating a diesel version of the Corolla.
Even traditional petrol car markets like Delhi
and Mumbai are succumbing to this new wave of diesel cars. This
may have to do with the benefits diesel vehicles have to offer car
users, for e.g. Turbo diesel power, low maintenance
and the
competitive pricing.
Even the upper segment cars are displaying a shift to the diesel
era.
Diesel car sales, for Mercedes Benz, diesel car sales account for
55%.
Rising petrol prices seemed to be the culprit behind
the increasing demand for Diesel vehicles.
