Delphi Technology Show on wheelsDelphi Automotive Systems is the world's largest and most diversified supplier of automotive components and systems and has had a 5-year presence in India.  January last year witnessed the launch of Delphi Aftermarket Operations in India.  With that India became the headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region for Delphi Aftermarket Operations.  The reason for this being that India is viewed as a key market and also because it is fast becoming a production base for global markets.

Last year Delphi registered sales worth Rs 328 crore.  Its performance is credited to its extensive distribution network.  Today Delphi reaches out to 90 cities across the country.  Its current partner-distributors are Jullundur Motor Agency Ltd (Delhi), JMA Rane Marketing Ltd, Madras Auto Service, George Oakes Ltd and Poomkudi Agencies.

With two of its biggest distributor partners based in Tamil Nadu, Delphi chose to unveil its aftermarket consumer contact programme in the State recently.  Delphi's latest marketing initiative will cover16 cities in 12 states in India, travelling more than 12,000 kms reaching out directly to more than 50,000 car owners.

Rajiv AroraRajiv Arora, Vice-president, Aftermarket Operations India, said "50,000 car owners will be provided extensive car check-ups at no cost.  They will also be made aware of preventive maintenance. The free car service check up would include suspension, drive shaft, air-conditioning, lube and engine oil, brake and transmission oil, power steering oil and coolant, tyre wear and tear, mileage performance, alignment, battery, electric components and general body inspection.  The check ups would be enlivened by 'Delphi Technology Show on wheels' where the full range of Delhi after market products are showcased in a transparent acrylic car".

The programme which started with Tamil Nadu will move on to Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Orissa before it returns to Delhi.  With this programme, customers would be made aware that the same quality and technological expertise that goes into Delphi OEM products is also available to them as replacement parts with a 12-month warranty.
