The
much-awaited Siena Weekend - the upmarket station wagon from
the Italian auto major - Fiat, is out. Lifestyle vehicles
being the most 'happening' segment in the Indian auto market, the
Siena Weekend promises to be a major draw.
The Siena weekend comes in two versions - the 1.6 litre MPI (Multi-point
Injection) Petrol and the 1.7 litre turbo Diesel variant. The Petrol
Weekend comes with a 1600 cc, 98 bhp, 16 valve engine, while the
1700 cc turbo Diesel motor pumps out 63 bhp.
With
all seats taken, the Weekend can carry an additional 500 kilograms
without hassle. Access is easy, with the 5 door body and a low loading
sill.
The car is fitted with FPS (fire protection system) with inertia
switch and twin-valve fuel cut-off - the most advanced system available
on the market, to prevent fire breaking out after an accident. The
Siena Weekend (16-valve Petrol) is fitted with the Fiat CODE system
- an electronic security key that functions as the engine immobiliser.
In case of theft, the wrong key immobilises the engine.
As sleek as its predecessor from the Fiat stable, the station
wagon is both a city car and a rough rider. This air-conditioned
car, branded the "casual classic" will be marketed in
a big way, to high-profile customers in the major metros.
