Sun Network) has internet-over-cable on his mind. With Sumangali,
his cable venture, he will have a near-unbeatable platform for
this launch.
G V Films, one of the earliest entertainment
companies to go public, has bought out internet rights for over
400 Tamil films for a 25-year period.
PentaMedia (formerly Pentafour software) is working on webcasting
multi-lingual content. Their portal www.numtv.com ('num' means 'our'
in Tamil) provides streaming video without the download hassles.
Apollo Hospitals is working on a countrywide broadband network,
which could make possible virtual consultation.
Cyberwave, the Internet service provider of the Rs. 30 crore Arun Excello
Group, is offering cable modems for its internet-over-cable
service.
