INSTITUTE
FOR FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH
The
Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) was set
up in 1970. Sponsored jointly by the Industrial Credit Corporation
of India (ICICI) and the House of Kotharis, it is an
autonomous organization dedicated to Training, Consultancy and Research.
Training
The Institute conducts general training programmes and in-company
programmes all over the country. It has conducted more than 800
so far. In July this year it introduced a new course in Master of
Business Administration (MBA).

1. An eight-week "Certificate Course in Financial Management"
once a year, which attracts participants from abroad.
2.Course
for the officers of the Indian Administrative Service.
3. Advanced Computer Applications in Finance.
4. Advanced Financial Management for the Commonwealth Secretariat,
London.
5. A Ph.D programme which is affiliated to the University of
Madras.
The Institute also conduct Seminars, Workshops and Conferences
on matters of importance in the finance field.
Consultancy
The Institute has carried out consultancy work for the Planning
Commission, National Board for Agricultural Research and Development,
Energy Advisory Board, Electricity Boards, State Road Transport
Corporations, Oil and Natural Gas Commission, Life Insurance Corporation
of India, Neyveli Lignite Corporation and International Airport
Authority of India.
Research
The Institute has carried out research for National and International
Agencies. It has so far published 40 books in this area.
Faculty
The Institute has a competent set of faculty with varied experience.
It includes Economists, Chartered Accountants, Cost Accountants,
Management Accountants and Engineers.
Hostel
Excellent hostel facilities - 47 twin bedrooms.
H.T. Parekh Library
The Institute has a well-equipped library with a comprehensive
collection of books and periodicals in Finance. It has been recognised
as a Depository Library for International bodies like the World
Bank, United Nations University and WTO Secretariat.
