Started in 1997, it is promoted by the The Great Citi Club Time
Ltd, the club has been designed keeping in mind the entrepreneur
or those in top management. It offers international facilities and
professional services to members and their families.
The club provides opportunities for the members to exchange thoughts,
views and ideas in an ambience that is both relaxing and stimulating.
Facilities
available are Billiards, Chess, Table Tennis, Cards, Shuttle Badminton,
Carom, Tennis, Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, Steam Bath, Sauna, Jacuzzi,
Restaurant, Lawn Restaurant, Bar, Open air theatre, Beauty Parlour
and mini Conference hall.
According to B Ramachandiran, Managing Director, The
League Club, the USP of the place is the big swimming pool with
a separate diving pool. The club also has a separate kids pool,
where they give them training. He also feels that the club has a
locational advantage, as there are no other clubs in the Annanagar,
Saligramam area. 'This is an upcoming locality and we are capitalising
on that ', says Ramachandiran. Another unique feature of the
club is that the Membership is saleable and transferrable.
Apart
from entrepreneurs, the club has members from the medical fraternity
as well. Many leading doctors from Ramachandra Medical Hospital,
Sundaram Foundation and Vijaya Hospitals are patrons
of the club. The club has around 800 members. Since the club promises
exclusivity, the final decision to grant membership lies with the
management.
The club regularly screens movies at its theatre and organises
various entertainment and cultural events. They organise quiz programmes,
cooking competitions and other sporting activities to keep children
engaged.
According
to Ramachandiran, only about 25% of the project is completed so
far. Proposed facilities include an exclusive vegetarian restaurant,
a 24-hour coffee shop, a discotheque, suites, library, squash, shopping
area, child care centre, executive business centre, conference and
banquet hall etc.
