Alive:
The Alive Foundation is a trust that seeks to facilitate environmental education through films and the big screen experience. The foundation strongly believes that it is through understanding and appreciation of the natural world that people can be inspired to conserve it. The Alive Foundation is an initiative of Sathyam Cinemas and Ecotone, a media consultancy whose focus is natural history and georgraphy documentation.

Since 2005, several wildlife film festivals have been held at Sathyam Cinemas and special shows have been organized for the schools. More than 10,000 children from various city schools have attended the ALIVE school shows so far, to watch internationally acclaimed and award-winning wildlife documentaries and interact with some of the film-makers. It is hoped that such screenings will be a valuable tool for educators, to teach children about environmental issues and conservation using the powerful medium of cinema.
