Meet Dharti Munjal, the Miss Personality of Miss Chennai 1999 pageant and Miss Fairever 2000, and our Model of the Month. She's a combination of brains and good looks. Currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration, she comes across as a person with purpose and warmth. And yes, she has a good dress sense.

Tell us about the advertisements and fashion shows you've done.

My favourites would be the ones I did for Funskool Toys, V.V.S. Oil, Cadburys, and Fanta. I did some press shots for ANZ Grindlays. I've also done a lot of ramp shows, which I enjoy much more than commercials, because you get to meet different people and get to interact with them.

Whathas given you the greatest sense of self-worth?

I get the greatest sense of self-worth when I make my friends and family proud of me. Like when I was Miss Personality of the Miss Chennai 1999 pageant, Miss Fairever 2000, and when I did well academically.

What are the sacrifices you have had to make to pursue modelling?

I think that when you want to be something in life, you have to do more than two things at a time. Sometimes I would have to do a shoot till 1:00 am, and at 6:00 am, there'd be another car waiting to take me for another shoot and I used to go off to sleep in class. Yes, a lot of sacrifices.....

What has family support been like to you?

I'll answer that in one word - Tremendous.

Are you a good student?

YES! I am a good student! You should ask my professors. They know I wouldn't bunk classes unless I had a shoot and they've been very encouraging.

How do you stay the way you look?

Drink a lot of water, work out, don't eat too much and don't bother too much.

Who is your strongest source of inspiration?

I had this very good friend a couple of years ago. I think he influenced my ideas very strongly. His name is Sanu. And besides him, my family of course. I think I have a wonderful family.

What are your future plans?

I never decided that I wanted to be a model because modelling just happened to me. Right now I'm standing at a crossroad and I'm not sure whether it's modelling that's going to bring me more fame. I'm doing my second year, M.B.A. and I plan to go abroad to study further.......
So right now, I guess it's going to be my studies.
