Chennaibest.com spoke to M Mohamed Sadik of Sadik
Kazura Aromatics. Established by Hanifa Kazura in 1933,
Singapore, Chennai operations were started in 1994. Sadik Kazura
Aromatics are specialists in blending different kinds of perfumes.
Available at their showroom are nearly sixty types of oils used
in aromatherapy (only alcohol free products).
Procurement of raw materials
 We
have distillers available at the Research and Development laboratory.
Certain Natural essence oils are available in India; like jasmine,
lemongrass and sandal. Some of them are imported; like lavender,
elang elang. We import only those aromatic items which are not available
locally.
New products and innovation
We will soon come out with new blends. We are manufacturing blends
for acne, pimples, blood pressure, arthritis and a host of other
chronic ailments. It should be remembered that all these products
are meant strictly for external use. There are certain oils that
should be avoided during pregnancy and those with a history of epilepsy.
Is a prescription insisted on?
No. But people come here with prescriptions from aroma therapists
and beauticians.
Attar and perfume
Both are actually blends. Attar has more of natural products and
less of synthetic products. Perfume has more of synthetic concentration
and less of natural products.
 Basis
for blending
We are specialists in blending essential oils for perfumes. Whenever
our R&D unit comes out with a new product; we first launch the product
most often in a concentrated form and wait for the market response.
Later, depending on the customer response, we start blending and
then market the product.
Popular perfumes and attar
Oudh is the most popular attar. We have international brands
like Night Jasmine and White Mask.
Export and Import
We export attar and import perfumes. Government support for this
trade is quite good.
 Utility
of alcohol-free perfumes
Alcohol-free perfumes are used for blending purposes. Hence, it
finds good applications in the cosmetic industry, in manufacture
of talc's, cream and other cosmetic items.
Price range
Rs.15 (8ml) to Rs.150 (8ml) for perfume. For the expensive ones,
we have from Rs.500 to Rs. 7,000 a tola (12 gm)
