One of the few exclusive lingerie outlets in the city, Underlines – The Lingerie Boutique, is run by Anuradha Goyal. This three-year-old, 700 sq ft outlet located on Khader Nawaz Khan Road, is tastefully designed and softly lit, creating just the right ambience for buying lingerie.  Dealing only with imported undergarments, the store features two major brands – Berlei, a big name in Australia, and Felina, a German brand.  The boutique also supplies lingerie to lifestyle stores like Lifestyle and Shopper’s Stop.  It also has some swimwear to add to its list of exclusives.

The brassiere collection at the outlet includes a range of speciality items like sports bras, strapless bras, T-shirt bras, nursing bras and the newest international innovation - bras with transparent straps, which are ideal to wear with spaghetti-strap dresses for those who do not like to use strapless bras.In the panties section, there are many buyers for the corset panties that have extra lining to push the stomach in and are suitable to wear with tight dresses.  Some come to the store just to buy the G-string panties.

Available in a variety of colours and designs, the brassiere price ranges from Rs 250/- to Rs 1600/-, while the panties collection ranges between Rs 125/- and Rs 850/-.

The nightwear at the boutique is classy and exceptional. It is available in cotton and satin, as nighties, as shorts and top, a few come with gowns as three-piece items.  While cotton nightwear is preferred by women for regular use and satin by honeymooners and holidayers, the shorts and top is a hit with teenagers and young girls.  The cotton nightwear ranges between Rs 600/- and Rs 1400/-, satin between Rs 1400/- and Rs 3000/-.

Though the boutique is essentially upmarket, Goyal says her customer profile is varied.  She remarks, “Many buy such exclusive undergarments only at the time of their weddings, some come to indulge themselves once in a while, and many are regulars.”
