L.G. PAN PLAZA

Situated on Montieth Road, L.G. Pan Plaza is the city's first air-conditioned Paan shop (Paan refers to Betel leaf preparations which are a preferred after-food munch). Responding to requests from his customers at Bangalore and Hyderabad, Mahesh Soma opened this joint in the first month of the new millennium.

L.G. Pan Plaza offers over 30 different varieties of natural-flavoured, tobacco-free Paans, and over 500 other tobacco Paans. And this is one of the few places where you have a choice of four types of Pan-leaves (Banarasi, Calcutta, etc.) All the masalas and chutneys(sauce) used in the Paans are made from natural essences. The 'supari' (betel nut) used comes in different flavours like rose, khus, kesar, and pineapple. You also have something called 'salli' supari, which are thin supari flakes, available in flavours of khus, chandan and rose, among others. If you're feeling kind of rich, try out the Special Paan, topped with an edible gold foil, for Rs. 100/-.

Also on the menu are 'ice-golas', which is something like a Slush (crushed ice and essence), in ten mouth-watering flavours. You could also try out the kulfi, in any of the 12 available flavours. If you're the classy smoker, check out the Cuban cigars, branded lighters and other accessories at the counter.
