Stress is an ugly word in today's world, staying alert is the thing.
Transcendental
Meditation (TM) is the latest 'beat the stress' therapy in reckoning.
TM is a natural technique, which does not require too much time
to learn or practice. It gives the body rest, expands the capacity
of the mind, normalises blood pressure, reduces incidence of heart
disease, facilitates better sleep, increases energy levels and IQ.
The difference between TM and other meditation techniques is that
it does not involve great concentration or contemplation.
TM was first introduced by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
in the year 1957 in Chennai. Maharishi is the disciple of Swami
Bramhananda Saraswati, of Jotir Math Badrikashram, Himalayas.
TM has been scientifically verified by more than 500 independent
studies done in 140 countries and is theoretically named the Maharishi
Technology of Unified Field or the Science of Creative Intelligence.
At Chennai, TM is taught at the Maharishi Transcendental Meditation
Centre, Chetpet, by experienced teachers who have been practicing
TM for over 25 years. It can be learned by anyone over the age of
10 and it does not cater to any particular religion or sect.
Courses offered include:
TM programme - 1 hour everyday, for 5 days.
TM Siddhi programme ( Pranayama and Yoga are also taught)
- 1 hour every Saturday and Sunday, for 7 weeks.
Maharishi Corporate Development Programme - 10 day seminar.
