The Maharishi Corporate Development Programme (MCDP) was started by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who introduced Transcendental Meditation to the world over 40 years ago.

Prof Attila MiskolciBased on the principle of Natural Law, this programme offers a unique approach to developing the most fundamental resource of every business, which is human consciousness. Consciousness is at the basis of the alertness, creativity, organising power, efficiency, health and happiness of every executive and employee. Thus it is the consciousness of employees that ultimately determines the performance and success of the company as a whole.

According to Professor Attila Miskolci, Director of MCDP, this programme is different from other management programmes in that, "it addresses the sap of the tree and not the tree". When asked to explain this statement he said, "Society is made of individuals. And organisations are also made of individuals. It is the individuals' problems and limitations that affect the organisation as a whole. No amount of team building, group dynamics or leadership programmes can bring about any change in the organisation, unless the individual changes his values and attitudes".

"Most management programmes try to polish the apple, without realising that it is the root which has to be nourished and nurtured to produce a good apple". Whatever the management programme, all problems are traced down to the individual and his mind and its weaknesses. Performance, profit and success of the organisation depend on individuals.

"The basic assumption of the MCDP is that each individual can perform only from his level of understanding. So ultimately all the problems of society and an organisation boil down to the individual mind. The individual mind has to be addressed to bring about clarity of thinking and develop intuition". The MCDP programme is easy to implement, it is universal and it aims at holistic brain functioning, that is, developing the total mental potential of the individual.

The MCDP uses, Transcendental Meditation (TM) to develop the full creative potential of human consciousness. The core of the Programme consists of five sessions, lasting two hours each, on consecutive days, during which participants learn TM. After the five-day session, advanced seminars are conducted every month, with each session lasting for about one and a half hours.

Prof Attila MiskolciImplemented in hundreds of leading companies worldwide, including General Motors, Ericsson, IBM, Toyota, and many leading Indian Companies (ACC, BHEL, Maruti, Godrej, Motorola, RPG, Modi Xerox etc.) this is the only human resource development programme which has been validated by over 600 studies conducted at over 200 universities and research institutions, including Harvard Medical School, Stanford University, University of Chicago etc.
