Declared
a 'Centre of Excellence' by the Government of India, Apollo Hospitals
is a multi-speciality hospital that has pioneered several angioplasty
and orthopaedic procedures. It has the largest Bone Marrow Transplant
unit in the country. It is also the first private company to administer
health insurance in the country.
This Hospital has several other firsts to its credit - The first
organ transplant registry in the country, the first to introduce

Vijaya
Hospitals, founded by Mr B. Nagi Reddy in 1972, is one
of the oldest private hospitals in the city. The three hospitals
- Vijaya Hospital, Vijaya Heart Foundation and Vijaya
Health Centre are part of the Vijaya Medical and Educational
Trust.
Vijaya Hospital has a blood bank, laboratory, ultrasound,
treadmill, cardiac cath, eco cardiology, ECG, endoscopy, digital
cardiac cath lab and cardiac post outpatient ward. The blood bank
catering to the in-patients in the hospital is licensed to prepare
blood components and blood products. Blood components are also supplied
to outpatients and surrounding hospitals.
Vijaya Health Centre was established in 1987. This hospital
with 270 beds is equipped with the latest equipment. The centre
is one of the largest health care providers in South India. The
Speciality services available here are at the cardiology and cardiothoracic
department, emergency ward, general surgery, laser, laproscopic
surgery, nephrology, neurology, neuro surgery and neuro intensive

Vijaya Heart Foundation, an extension of Vijaya Health
Centre, set up with a cost outlay of Rs12 crores in 1996, is
a 100-bed hospital. Services are available round-the-clock and the
hospital aims to keep pace with the growing demand for highly sophisticated
state-of-art cardiology and cardiothoracic surgical services. The
facilities available are round-the-clock laboratory, X-ray, pharmacy
and emergency medical units. It has a fully automated computerised
lab service, ECG, treadmill, echocardiography, stress echo, digital
cardiac cath lab, nuclear cardiology, centrally monitored ICU, twin
cardiac surgery theatre, comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation services
