RAASI
Rejuvenation of Ancient Arts of South
India. That is what RAASI stands for.
Established in November 1999, with the involvement of several art
lovers, this non-profit enterprise has established strong ties with
various art groups, institutions and individuals who are involved
in the creation of original works of art. The members visit various
places and evaluate the genesis of art and its transformation in
the last 350 years. They also make specific recommendations on how
to preserve the traditions of various forms of art.
RAASI
extends financial assistance and marketing support to art groups.
This facility is extended to artists who have mastered different
styles of ancient art as taught to them by their forefathers or
through formal education and training or even through intuitive
learning. RAASI also conducts classes on traditional art,
twice a week for beginners.
Influenced by the changing trends in the appreciation of the arts,
the organisation encourages the introduction of innovative variations
in ancient art forms. Attempts are being made to fuse contemporary
streams of influence with traditional art, to make the offering
more interesting and popular with the public.
All
donations are exempt from
Income Tax under Sec 80G of the Act.
