Can you tell us more about the UV lacquer
which you use?
Our UV sealer and top coat are not dangerous and are free of labeling.
They are ready-to-use lacquers, which means that photo-initiator
or other things need to be added before application. This is the
latest type of UV lacquer and they can even be enhanced with 5%
of our hardener for better results or for timbers with substantial
mineral content. With the addition of hardener the pot life of our
lacquer exceeds seven days, which is the longest in the market.
It
fulfills the durability requirements of Deutsches Institut for
Normung (DIN) DIN 68861 Group B 1. It is extremely hard, scratch
proof with very low abrasive value according to Taber Abraser test
and good elasticity, which is very important for flooring. It is
nonflammable according to DIN 4102 Group B1 and VTL 7100-001/2
Chapter 2.7. It is styrene free, unlike the polyester type,
which are still produced by many and are known to be carcinogenic.
The production process of our lacquers are fully computerised and
no hand mixing is allowed. Therefore, high quality is consistently
maintained. All resins and formulae are developed in-house. In the
production of UV lacquer, most manufacturers around the world have
to purchase the resin from three large resin manufacturers in Germany.
Therefore the latest types of UV resins are obtainable in Germany
and in our case we have our own license, which nobody can buy. Here
we are talking our the UV - PU- Acrylic type of resins and not the
old polystyrene type of lacquers. Thus apart from Germany, it is
quite impossible now at the present moment to obtain a first rate
type of resin from anywhere else.
Our commitment to quality is exhibited by the fact that we have
a product guarantee of up to DM two million, if our product is proven
defective.
Tips
for cleaning wooden flooring
Clean the floor daily using a dust mop or a slightly
damp swab. All excess moisture must be removed immediately.
Pools of water left to dry on the floor will cause serious
damage.
A mild solution of pure soapflakes is ideal for washing
purposes, as it does not leave a residue behind on the
floor surface.
Abrasive or polish based cleaning materials should
never be used.
If any material other than soapflakes is used in the
cleaning process, the floor should be lightly sanded
(with sandpaper of grain size 150 - 180) before re-lacquering.
Black marks from shoes can be removed with spirit.
Taking
care of wooden flooring
Never use nylon wheels, metal wheels or similar hard
wheels without a protective covering on the floor. Loads
should always be pushed around carefully. When loads
are heavier than 250 kgs per wheel for solid rubber
wheels or 300 KGs / wheel for air rubber wheels (these
are the maximum rolling load for Moldrup wooden flooring),
then load spreading materials (for example, 22mm ply
wood sheets) should be placed in the traffic area.
Tips
for cleaning common household spills on wooden flooring
Take a few pieces of white cleaning cloth and 1/4 teaspoon
of liquid dishwashing detergent for one cup of warm
water. Scoop up as much of the spill as possible, immediately.
Then blot the area with the clean cloth to remove excess
moisture.
Do not rub the floor in the area where the spill has
occurred. If the spill is large, use a wet or dry vacuum.
Apply warm water to the stained area and blot with
the white cleaning cloth. Repeat this till there is
no stain evident on the cloth.
