CHENNAI EQUESTRIAN ACADEMY

Chennai Equestrian AcademyAt Sholinganallur is Chennai's first Equestrian Academy. 17 horses and vast stretches of land make for an interesting school that teaches Equestrian to youngsters. Dressage, Tent-pegging and Show jumping are the events that are given focus. Kishore Futnani, with his 35 years of experience in Equestrian sports, conceived the idea 3 years ago, along with Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Arun Alagappan and film star Prabhu Ganesan.

Chennai Equestrian AcademyThe youngest student is an 8-year-old girl, who took part in the recent National Equestrian Championships that was conducted here. Since Kishore insists on a 1:1 ratio (and the horses here are less in number), getting a membership is exceptionally tough. Talent is given the first priority. Determination comes next. Selection happens during a summer camp conducted every year in the month of May. Students who show the greatest aptitude are chosen. They are then offered membership. There are 2 levels - the Beginners and the Advanced. Anyone who is below 21 years of age can join the academy. The academy has recently started a special feature, where mentally and physically challenged children are taught horse riding.
