MOLOTOV COCKTAIL AT THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE

From hip-swinging to head banging, it was a music lover's day out when the city's most happening band, 'Molotov Cocktail', performed to a mixed audience on a humid evening at the 'Whistle Stop Cafe'. The event was organised by Explocity.com under its new entertainment banner 'Explocity.com Live'.

Molotov CocktailMolotov Cocktail kicked off the show with some smooth jazz classics like, 'Autumn Leaves', 'Summer time' and 'All the way' followed by a few of Sting's hit numbers, 'Every breath you take' and 'Desert rose'. The vocals by Ruheen Ashok, a new inclusion to the band was simply spectacular, so were the slick solo runs on the fretboard by David Fernandez.

The crowd went rapturous when Arjun Thomas, the lead vocalist for the band played the psychedelic number, 'Hotel California' by Eagles with some sweeping notes on the guitar by Shaun Roberts and David Fernandez, complementing each other with the right notes perfectly well. This was followed by some real hip swinging numbers like, Ricky Martin's 'She Bangs' and Peter Andre's 'Mysterious Girl', when the open air lawn was transformed into a dance floor with the crowd shaking a leg or two.

Shaun Roberts and Arjun ThomasThe evening ended with some rock classics like, 'Knocking on heaven's door' and a few ballads. Altogether, the evening was a heady mix of some great music, great drinks(a non-alcoholic brew specially prepared for the invitees, called 'Molotov Mocktail') followed by some great meditteranean food at the cafe.

'This is just the first show we have organised in Chennai, we plan to bring more of such events, ranging from theatre to jazz, said, Anitha Santhanam, Manager, Strategy and Marketing, Explocity.com. So, Chennaites can look out for more of such events in future.
