puppets, leather puppets, contemporary life size puppets and rod

The art of puppetry is experiencing a revival worldwide. As an
expressive, creative activity for the child or young adult, there
is little to rival their skills.
This 10 days festival beginning from March 1 to March 10 is organized
inorder to bring together a rich and varied array of traditional
and contemporary puppeteers of international repute all over India.
Lecture demonstration and discussion by international contemporary
puppeteers from Turkey, China, Pakistan and India form a part of
the festival schedule.
The education programme include school visits, one day seminars
and workshops for teachers and students, interaction sessions with
the puppeteers and a special puppet show by the school children
and the young friends of Dakshin Chitra.
As an attraction the festival will also feature Troonz Animation,
from Trivandrum, who will transport you to the world of digital
animation. The progression of technology and performance will educate,
entertain and inspire the young and old alike.
