Ford India's brand philosophy of 'josh' is taking on a new
dimension in a special programme called the 'Young IKONs'. The
Young IKONs programme was initiated by Ford India in the year 2000
with the objective of providing recognition to young individuals
with extraordinary talent, encouraging them to scale greater heights
in their chosen area of excellence.
This
year, Ford India has selected two bright young artists in the field
of music and photography as the "Young IKONS" to give
them an opportunity to demonstrate their talent by interpreting
'josh' in their own unique way.
Ford India has selected Prabha, a talented playback singer,
and Colston Julian, a budding freelance photographer, as
their Young IKONs for 2001. Prabha, will be releasing an album of
eight peppy and upbeat songs to reflect her interpretations of a
'joshful' world. The album will be released by HMV in November.
Colston has captured the spirit of 'josh' through his photography,
in a variety of settings. Ford India aims to provide a helping hand
in mentoring and sponsoring fresh talent.
"Ford wants to promote young people who embody the spirit
of josh. We want to extend the josh spirit to a variety of people
and in a number of new ways. Prabha and Colston - the two young
artists Ford has chosen this year, exhibit the exuberance and enthusiasm
that we believe in. We have initiated the young IKONs programme
with a vision to encourage the creative spirit of the youth and
provide an opportunity for recognition. We wish them a brilliant
future in their chosen areas of excellence," said Randy
Shockley, Vice President - Marketing, Sales and Services.
The
Young IKONs will showcase their talent at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October
20th at the Regent Hotel. This evening event will be filled with
entertainment of a live performance from Prabha interspersed with
an exhibition of Colston's photographs reflecting his ideas of the
word 'josh'.
Apart from motor sports, Ford India encourages to recognise creative
talent from all walks of life through the Young IKONs programme.
Last year's Young IKONs, Rohini Devasher and Varun Wadhwan,
were selected in the field of art and fashion respectively.
Prabha's singing skills coupled with Colston's stunning photographs
have offered an extra dose of 'josh' to this year's Young IKONs
programme.
