Here is a young singer who will not mind prioritizing music over
engineering.
T.N.S.Krishnan who steals time from his education to learn Carnatic
music has obtained the legacy of his illustrious father Madurai
T.N.Seshagopalan who has been in the professional Carnatic music
circuit for the past few decades.
Krishnan
who does not have any exact schedule to achieve this, quickly listens
to his father while he gives lessons to his students. And he acquires.
Krishnan also accompanies his father during concerts and gives him
vocal support and learns music in the process.
An Engineering graduate from Sri Venkateswara College in the outskirts
of Chennai, Krishnan has rejected the job he landed through campus
recruitment. Instead, he aims to study for MS or MBA abroad. His
parents too, are in favour of their son achieving academic excellence.
Except, Krishnan would comply with going abroad only if it does
not come in the way of his learning music.
For Krishnan music came naturally to him in his early days. Listening,
to his father singing, young Krishnan used to recognize the swaras.
Today his aim is only to emulate his father and keep up the musical
tradition, which he considers as a family asset, intact.
Unlike his contemporaries who go in for other formsof music, Krishnan
solely concentrates on specializing in Carnatic music- five concerts
in a month, B High Grade from the All India Radio. All in a days
work. At the end of the day, this soft-spoken guy likes to sit back
and listen to some Hindustani or ghazals, at the most.
He also favours to watch Ganguly play on TV. Better still, some
comedy shows would do fine for him.
But any day he will prefer music.
