RANE GROUP
 The
Rane Group has had a strong presence in the manufacture of
automobile components since 1960. Producing for the Indian automobile
industry, the farm sector and the railways, Rane has also met the
demands of international markets like those in the United States,
the United Kingdom and Germany.
Today the eight Rane companies, with their 12 manufacturing
locations in South India, manufacture a wide range of products including
camshafts, valve tappets, engine valves, guides, oil and air filter
components, manual steering gear, brake linings, clutch assemblies
and railway brake blocks. Being an ISO 9001 company, the Group has
to its credit the account of major automobile giants like Eicher
Mitsubishi, Hero Honda, DCM Toyota, Premier Nissan, Swaraj Mazda,
Mahindra Nissan, Escort Ford, Mahindra & Mahindra and the like.
The Group employs over 4000 people. The Rane approach has been marked
by a continual acquiring and applying of global technologies and
cutting-edge strategies.
AMRUTANJAN
 For
over one hundred years now, Amrutanjan has been a household
name for Ayurvedic and Allopathic products, ranging from pain balms
to revitalisers. Started in 1893 by Desodhakara Pantulugaru Nageswara
Rao, the company went public in 1936. The company now headed by
S. Radhakrishna (grandson of the Founder), has a wide distribution
network. There are about 3.5 lakh retailers and 1,750 stockists all
over India. There are two health-care product-manufacturing units,
one each, at Chennai and Hyderabad.
The company has a strong Research and Development wing and has
been constantly upgrading its technology to stay in step with the
changing market. Besides exporting its products to the Middle East
and African countries, the company now plans to make inroads in the
American and European markets. Amrutanjan pain balm (its main product),
Cold Rub, Cold Snap, Maha Inhaler and Dragon are some of the more
popular brands in the company's range of OTC (Over the Counter) Health
care products.
